# Clone an assistant

`POST https://www.getrevox.com/api/assistants/{id}/clone`

Create a full copy of an existing assistant, including every configuration field. The new assistant has the same configuration as the source, with the name suffixed by "(Copy)" and a freshly generated API key. Pass `type: "sub-assistant"` to import a standalone assistant into a multi-step flow: the copy keeps the source name, is hidden from the assistants list, and is ready to be wired into a flow via the /assistants/:id/edges endpoints.
